Types of Chemical Peels

ZO Controlled Depth Peel®

The ZO Controlled Depth Peel (CDP) is a highly advanced chemical peel effective in improving conditions including uneven pigmentation, shallow acne scars, sun damage and freckling, and fine lines and wrinkles. Performed in-office, the CDP can restore healthier and younger-looking skin to the face, neck, chest, and hands of our Fort Worth and Weatherford patients. This chemical peel requires some patience, as the visible improvements appear gradually over time, usually around 30-40 days following treatment. As new, healthy skin replaces the old, the skin’s texture becomes firmer, cleaner, and smoother. With this process, your appearance becomes more vibrant and younger-looking.

Our experienced skin care technicians analyze each client’s skin quality and goals before establishing a plan that will best achieve those goals. The ZO Controlled Depth Peel is safe and customizable to individual skin care needs. Removal of minor skin blemishes or improvement of skin tone may require only 1 to 2 layers of the CDP, whereas more severe cases of skin damage may require 3 layers and multiple CDP sessions spaced out over a few months for comprehensive treatment.

Chemical Peels FAQs

Does A Chemical Peel Hurt?
Most patients admit to tingling or a slight burning sensation with the application of a chemical peel. This discomfort does subside shortly after the procedure has been completed. In the case of Phenol peels, the practitioner may offer pre-procedure anesthesia due to its higher level of discomfort.

Can I Combine Procedures?
Combining chemical peels with another procedure such as microdermabrasion is very common. This dual procedure provides the most effective results, and can be repeated every six weeks.

Which Peel is Right for Me?
There are several similar options to consider. For milder skin conditions such as fine lines or uneven skin tone, adequate benefit may be gained from a chemical peel that removes dead skin cells and accelerates the generation of new skin. For deeper wrinkles, a Phenol peel can help, but consideration should also be given to injectable treatments such as BOTOX or Dysport. A one-on-one consultation with our skin care professionals will provide you with the information you need to consider all the options available.
